Hi! I’m Jolien Koole Carter, OCT, BA, BEd. aka "Miss Koole"

My love of literature began early, when I much preferred reading books in the nook under the stairs or outside in the hammock instead of helping out on the farm. I voraciously read everything I could get my hands on. By the time I was in elementary school, I was helping the younger kids as a reading buddy and with their penmanship.

After high-school, I first gained my diploma in Early Childhood Education before moving on to concurrent BA in Child and Youth Studies and Bachelor of Education at Brock University. Before I could graduate I developed a chronic illness that changed my course and gave me a deeper understanding of various barriers in education and learning.

As I navigated rebuilding my aptitude and joy for reading and writing, this reaffirmed my passion for walking along others as they learn and grow.. Providing individualized literacy and executive functioning skill support can open up a whole new world to everyone, especially those living in a world that wasn’t built for them. My heart’s desire is that every learner gets the opportunity to encounter and step into this world in a way that supports them so they can flourish.

Now I’ve been an educator for well over a decade. I moved from working in the school board to providing specialized remedial (and beyond) 1:1 instruction to students and helping neurodivergent adults develop the skills they need for a functional home and life.
